revelation

i had a revelation today
i am stronger than i think
and i do not need anyone
i express my emotions through poetry
there is no need to share them with you
i don't need your shoulder to cry on
i can stand alone
i will be the woman i was before you came along
beautiful, strong
the epitome of the female form
you are not worth the heartache and strife
i have pushed upon myself
from this day forth
i will be true to only one-
myself.
